Planned upgrade completed on Orskov Yard´s floating dock

Orskov Yard has just completed a drydocking, full inspection, service and preventive maintenance of the yard´s floating dock. The dock is able to take vessels up to 115 meters, and is the smallest of three docks owned and operated by Orskov Yard. It is a very valuable asset to the yard when it comes to docking of various vessel types such as Offshore Support Vessels, Fishing Vessel and smaller Ferries and Tankers.

The dock was built in 1986 and purchased by Orskov Yard in 2006. During the drydocking this summer a full inspection was performed, tanks have been blasted and painted, steel has been replaced, bottom and sea chests cleaned, valves overhauled, bottom, top-side, decks and inner walls painted and new zinc anodes installed.

“The refurbished and well-maintained floating dock appears like a brand new floating dock, says CEO Lars Fischer, and will be ready to start work coming Monday 22nd July, with docking in of Harvest, a Norwegian trawler.”
